Learning the ins and outs of internet marketing is one thing but becoming an accomplished niche marketer is quite another, it takes special skill to pin point those untapped micro niches that are just waiting to be taken advantage of .

Many people will approach this the opposite way that it should be , first they will find a product that they feel will be a hot seller then they will try to find the crowd of people to market it to, however, that is not the way to do it , it should be approached the from a different perspective . Any seasoned niche marketer will tell you that you first need to find the starving market and then sell them what they want, if you can’t come up with a product or service they want then don’t waste any more time and simply move on.

There are several resources you can use to find these hungry crowds, like Yahoo Answers or Google Groups but my favorite method of all is to visit Internet forums and look through the various posts, you will be surprised at how many niche ideas you will come up with in a very easily, then you head on over to an affiliate network such as Commission Junction, Linkshare, Pepperjam or Clickbank and search through their data base for related product to market.

There are also some very sophisticated keyword tools on the market that will do much of the keyword research for you, one such tool that I am aware of is Micro Niche Finder but quite frankly I don’t have a clue how it’s algorithm works but it is capable of extracting targeted mini niches from a simple phrase that you input into the software, a micro niche is a extremely targeted niche within a larger niche

An example of a very broad niche would be something like “winter sports” and a medium broad niche would be the obvious sports such a snow shoeing skating, snowboarding and a Micro niche would be something like “vokle freestyle skis” and that’s the kind of Micro niche that the tool will locate, it really is an amazing time saver.

There are also a ton free niche tools that that you will find online my favorite of which is Google’s own keywords tool, the what I don’t like is that you must do all the brainstorming on your part versus that of Micro Niche Finder, however, if your on a shoestring budget you should use it

Another thing I should mention before I forget is the fact that micro niches are usually longtail key phrases that are way simpler to rank for in the organic search results as well as ad words due to the lack of competition and therefore makes it much more easier for you to gain a foot hold in those markets.
