3 Ways To Get Huge Targeted Traffic When You Get To The Top Of Google

The title to this page is probably confusing to many of you. Getting a lot of targeted traffic when you are at the top of the Google results sounds like it would be happening automatically, but that isn’t always the case…

I know this because I took one of my sites all the way to the number one spot on Google’s first page for a search term with over 67 Million results returned and only ended up with about 20 visitors a day as a result. This happened as a result of poor planning in the early stages of this site’s development.

There are three things that you need to be sure of so that when you get to the top of the first page of Google you get that free targeted traffic you seek.

1. Keywords With High Search Volume – Why bother to build the backlinks for a keyword that has less than a hundred people searching for it every month? It takes the same amount of work to rank well for one with over ten thousand. Don’t assume that because a keyword returns millions of results that it is also being searched for by millions of people. I like to look for keywords and keyword phrases that have relatively low competition but show at least a thousand searches a month and preferably several thousand.

Relevant Domain Name – If you were paying for a PayPerClick ad to that keyword, you would make sure the domain name contained relevant keywords to the niche of the keyword you were paying for, so why wouldn’t you make sure it makes sense for the keywords you are ranking for. If your domain name isn’t relevant to the search term you won’t get the clicks. 3. Relevant Content – Your Meta info and your posts or page abstract need to be relevant to the search being conducted or people just won’t be motivated to click your listing.
